Accreditation and Reaccreditation Resources

Whether you are looking to undergo accreditation/reaccreditation or in the middle of your five-year cycle of providing services, we strongly recommend reaching out to your local CAC network, your State Chapter, or your Regional CAC. They will be best suited to provide technical assistance on some of the unique scenarios and challenges you may face at your center, as they will be more familiar with the local community and state requirements that may affect your accreditation. They are also informed with the most up-to-date trainings and curricula available in the field.

Discussion Forums

Another one of the best resources at your disposal is the nationwide CAC community. Discussion forums on NCA Engage frequented by new and seasoned CAC staff act as a repository of essential information related to the Standards and how to meet them. Three in particular may be helpful on specific Standards:

FORENSIC INTERVIEWER COMMUNITY

MENTAL HEALTH COMMUNITY

VICTIM ADVOCATES COMMUNITY

DEI Principles

The principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are inherent throughout all of the Standards, including the Optional Standards. Within the Optional Standards guide, there are examples of implementation that are reflective of the diversity of CACs, with consideration of the vast diversity of communities in which CACs operate. Use the resources on the NCA DEI page to gain context on the Diversity, Equity, and Access (DEA) rationale to meet the DEA Standard, and to consider how the Optional Standards reflect DEI values.
