Your NCA membership comes with lots of benefits, but it also comes with some responsibilities, like critical incident reporting, keeping your Center contact current, filing your affidavit of standards compliance, and more. Here's a helpful refresher of those responsibilities, and links to the resources you need to manage them.

Staying on track as an NCA Member CAC

Here are a few key links to help you understand and meet your membership responsibilities as we work together to ensure the highest quality services for children and families.

To read or complete

  • Read regularly required NCA member reports: More details about the regular and situational reports required by various NCA membership categories and agreements, from the NCA member Census to annual NCA Report statistics to grant reports.
  • Read NCA's Membership Guidelines: Understanding NCA policies and procedures helps you more effectively navigate your membership responsibilities. Includes our dues and fees structure and other detailed membership information.
  • Complete your Membership Profile Form (Where to update your center's Contact Information):  Keep your center contact information updated with us so that you don't miss out on any important communications or opportunities. Look out for a quarterly reminder from us about this in the Open Forum of NCA Engage.
  • Complete your Affidavit of Standards Compliance Form: Accredited CACs are required to submit a completed affidavit. This document serves as verification of continued commitment to meeting the National Standards of Accreditation. The primary contact of each accredited CAC will receive an email from the Accreditation department when it is time to submit this form.
  • Extensions for Expiring Associate Members: There are instances when an Associate Developing member is not quite ready to transition from an Associate Member to an Accredited member after having been an Associate member with NCA for 5 years. In this case, an Associate member may request to have a 1-year extension on their Associate membership. Please reference the Member Guidelines document to review the full policy.
  • Pay Annual Membership Dues: Every dollar of your dues is well spent strengthening your work and supporting your critical mission. We truly appreciate the investment you make in your membership with us, which is truly an investment in the CAC movement.  Invoices for membership dues are emailed to the primary contact at the beginning of each year.

    • Critical Incident Report & Policy: Under your membership agreement, member CACs must notify NCA of certain critical incidents occurring at or involving their agencies using the linked form. It's also how NCA ensures we are working with the same set of facts as we form a plan to help you. Critical Incident reports are top-priority tasks for NCA leaders including our lead staff on media relations, government affairs, and governance. Contact NCA immediately with the completed form so we can help!
    • Third Party Complaint Policy: From time to time, third parties such as community members, parents, and government agencies contact NCA stating that an Accredited CAC is not operating in a manner in accordance with our National Standards of Accreditation. We share with them a form to submit a third-party complaint which, if credible, starts an inquiry under the linked policy above. See the policy to understand how NCA investigates third-party complaints of Accredited CACs.
